The Pulse-Eight HDMI DAC (P8-HDMIDAC) is an in-line audio converter and video scaler that sits between a source and a display. It down-mixes incoming Dolby Digital (up to 5.1) to stereo PCM over HDMI and breaks audio out to a 3.5 mm jack, so older amplifiers and zone audio can take a clean stereo feed.
It also scales video both ways — downscaling 4K/30p to 1080/24p so existing HD screens can display 4K sources through a 4K matrix, and upscaling 1080/24p to 4K/30p for connection to 4K displays. A switchable input selects video/audio scaling or straight pass-through, and the unit equalises and boosts the HDMI signal for longer cable runs.
Compact and simple to deploy, it's the ideal fix for multi-zone residential or commercial systems that mix 4K and HD displays without compromising source resolution.
