After a year in the works I have formally completed the purchase of the Techstyle business.
Techstyle was started by Brendon Reid, Alex Pardington and Barry Reid 18 years ago with a truckload of TruAudio speakers being jammed into a spare bedroom. Over the years, and many trade shows later, they acquired the distribution rights to the excellent AV brands in the Techstyle portfolio you see today.
The 2023 anniversary day floods in Auckland saw the Techstyle warehouse with a couple of feet of water running through it, boxes were floating out the doors as the staff tried to rescue as much stock as possible.
Word reached me that they might consider selling the business so that they could focus on their other businesses, after a brief negotiation over a beer it was decided I would run Techstyle while I was trained in Residential AV systems, specifically the Vantage Controls system, until such time that I was ready to complete the business purchase.
For now it is business as usual except for a new warehouse at 6/22 Wookey Lane, Kumeu, Auckland 0810. All other contact details remain the same.
